Listos California Hosts Regional Disaster Ready Summit in Los Angeles

Listos California in collaboration with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services conducted a Regional Disaster Ready Summit across California last September, including Los Angeles. The main goal of the event was to help the community understand how to respond to emergencies and to connect local emergency teams with community groups. 



The Regional Ready Summit was conducted in eight regions:

  • Palm Springs (Riverside County) - September 29

  • San Diego (San Diego County) - September 28

  • Los Angeles (Los Angeles County) - September 27

  • Ventura (Ventura County) - September 22

  • Tulare (Tulare County) - September - September 19

  • Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) - September 18

  • Chico (Butte County) - September 15

  • Placerville (El Dorado County) - September 13



The Summit Agenda included the following:

  • Exercise: Traits Tree: Cultivating Human Characteristics for Resilient Communities

  • Road to Safety Simulation

  • Mapping Community Assets

  • Introduction to California Emergency Response & Listos California

During the Regional Ready Summit in Listos California, around 100 people attended. The attendees came from a variety of backgrounds including emergency disaster preparedness officers, Los Angeles Police Department, firefighters, stakeholders, hospitals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. The speakers included representatives from the California governor's office of emergency services and staff from Listos California.

The core objectives of the summit include teaching the community to understand the emergency response system and the role of different organizations. The event also provided a way for community groups to connect, and build connections. And most importantly, they aimed to develop communication channels to enhance response and recovery efforts in the community. 

Ca Care Association is in collaboration with Listos California and we are working on conducting webinars throughout the year based on the different seasons because each season have different sets of hazards
