Recruitment for a Discussion on Chronic Health Issues

From 2016-2030, the total cost of chronic disease in California is projected to be at $4.7 trillion. In 2015, 7.9 million of the population had two or more chronic diseases and 21.6 million had at least one chronic disease. This data shows how chronic health disease is an important issue in the community and calls for an open discussion.

Roundtable Discussion

On October 16 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, a roundtable discussion will be conducted about chronic health issues affecting the Filipino community

We are looking for healthcare professionals, community organizations, and speakers for a roundtable discussion. Interested healthcare professionals should be knowledgeable on chronic health issues specifically asthma, heart disease, gout, diabetes, and high cholesterol/triglyceride. This is an opportunity to stimulate discussion concerning health and wellness in the community.

We are also looking for individuals who have chronic health issues to talk about their experiences and how they deal with these conditions. The roundtable discussion allows community members to directly engage with professionals who have the expertise and knowledge on chronic health issues. 

Why should you participate?

Roundtable discussions are a way to gather community members in a highly interactive meeting designed to exchange communication. It is beneficial not only to the community but also to healthcare experts to gauge information.

    Meetings foster cooperation between the healthcare provider and the individuals. It is developed through open communication and having a shared understanding of the quality of treatment and care. These discussions have the potential to improve the delivery of health services to the community.

    It brings together groups of people such as experts, representatives, leaders, and academics to have discussions in an evidence-based area of health sciences. It creates a shared knowledge, understanding, and trust to progress in the healthcare sector. It is an opportunity to bring attention to health issues faced by the community.

A roundtable discussion strengthens collaboration, networking, and socializing between the speakers and participants. It engages the community in healthcare issues and can be an avenue for decision-making. They are connected to accessing information about medical advancements, practices, and treatments that can help them.
