Caregiving Basics Training: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is a fundamental program to instruct caregivers on assisting individuals with essential daily self-care tasks. These ADLs encompass activities necessary to maintain independence and quality of life.
Assisting your residents with their ADLs is one of your core responsibilities as a caregiver. This training will give you an overview of Activities of Daily Living, and by the end of this training, you should be able to:
Know what Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are
Know examples of basic ADLs
Know what Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are
Know what activities your client require
Be knowledgeable about the factors that may affect ADL capabilities
Know strategies that you can use to improve a person’s ADL capacity
