How the Wage and Hour Division Can Help When Natural Disasters Strike

Natural disasters create serious challenges for workers and employers. During National Preparedness Month, the Wage and Hour Division urges employers to ensure they are prepared for the human resources, recordkeeping, and payroll challenges that arise during and after natural disasters. To help employers and workers stay prepared, the US Department of Labor have created the following resources:

The Natural Disaster Compliance Assistance ToolKit collection of fact sheets and informational resources related to various labor and employment topics. These resources cover a wide range of subjects, including employment and wages during natural disasters, employment relationships under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), recordkeeping requirements, overtime pay, child labor provisions, and more.
