Enhancing Caregiver Response During Disasters: Lists California

On April 18 at 10 am & 1 pm and September, Ca Care Association has invited the Listos California Program to provide community emergency preparedness training for California.

In California, natural disasters cause widespread and significant disruption. Hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods endanger people's lives, especially the elderly and developmentally disabled. With a lot of wildfires, the people who end up getting left behind are often people with significant disabilities or older adults.

Caregivers in assisted living care facilities and home care organizations work with patients on an immediate level, providing critical services that maintain their health and well-being through these disasters; managing through components like shelter preparation plans, medication management, anticipatory support for the client's physical health, and executing the organization's emergency plan when disaster strikes.

As part of our mission to educate, preserve, and develop Home and Community-Based Programs that enhance the safety and well-being of California's most vulnerable residents in senior and adult communities. California Care Association invites Nadia Wiggins from Listos California to provide a series of training sessions to enhance risk reduction during disasters and improve caregiver response to emergency situations.
