Announcement: New Advisory Member, Dr. Angelica Cortez!

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Angelica Cortez as the newest Advisory Member at the California Care Association. Dr. Cortez brings impressive knowledge and experience to help guide our organization. 

Her outstanding resume to our organization with a Doctor in Education from the University of Southern California and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of San Francisco. She also currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for Pacific Clinics, the largest mental and behavioral health nonprofit service provider in California.

Her experience and expertise will help further our mission to address social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Dr. Cortez's credentials, extensive training, and knowledge of public policy make her an excellent addition to our advisory board. We are excited to have her join and look forward to the added value she will bring to our organization. Dr. Cortez is a strategist, civic innovator, and cultural worker voted as a Silicon Valley 40 under 40. For over a decade, she worked in public policy, fundraising, and administration for advocacy organizations across California. 

In 2015, she founded the San José-based nonprofit LEAD Filipino, which serves thousands of students and families yearly through culturally responsive programming and education. Dr. Cortez is active in several political and nonprofit groups in San Jose, including serving on the Board of Directors for Sacred Heart Community Service and the Bulosan Center for Filipino Studies. Her contributions have been recognized by NBC Bay Area, featured in Malaysian and Philippines news media, and studied in academic literature.
